"Herradura was founded in 1861 by Feliciano Romo in Amatitàn, a small town located about 10 km from the city of Tequila, in the state of Jalisco.
  
Legend has it that Feliciano Romo, while looking for the ideal place to build the distillery, found a horseshoe, always considered a lucky charm, so he decided that it would be the ideal place for his business.
  
Herradura owns all the agave plantations from which the tequila comes.
  
In addition, Herradura ferments, distills, ages and bottles the entire range, without adding additives, colorings or sweeteners.
  
Thanks to an idea from Gabriela de la Peña, Feliciano Romo's wife, Herradura was the first hacienda to produce reposado, the eleven-month-old tequila, in 1974. The first production of tequila añejo dates back to 1962 and has aged for two years in rover barrels.
  
Nose: cooked agave, hint of anise, fruits, spices.
  
Palate: delicate with subtle notes of cooked agave, hint of butter vanilla and dried fruits."
