Located in the municipality of El Paisnal, El Salvador, the brand is known for its iconic and award-winning 8-year-old rum, launched in 2015. Cihuatán rum is produced from sugarcane grown in El Salvador and originally processed by the parent company, Ingenio. The rum is aged primarily in former bourbon barrels for at least eight years.
  
CIHUATAN Indigo 8 Years is an aged rum from El Salvador. It was created in homage to the Mayan rain god, nicknamed Indigo, and spent its eight years aging in American oak bourbon barrels.
