"In 1896, at the end of a veritable wine tour of France, Marcel Ott, a young Alsatian agronomist, came to a halt in front of lands that finally sparked his inspiration. We are in Provence. The Mediterranean lapped just a stone's throw away. Here, the cultivation of vines is a heritage from Antiquity. Unfortunately, shortly before Marcel Ott's discovery, phylloxera took its toll. As a result, the land is less expensive but the vineyard still needs to be replanted. lost much of his soul in the reconstruction of the vineyard. Marcel Ott acquired several estates and undertook to restore them with the tenacious ambition of creating great wines of Provence from noble grape varieties.
  
Today, 120 years later, Jean-François OTT devotes his life to the love at first sight of his ancestor, Marcel. In 2004, Domaines Ott joined Louis Roederer and his lovely federation of fine wine artisans.
