"D.O.M Benedictine is one of those ancient secret recipes invented by French monks. Made in Fécamp, Normandy, this amber-yellow herbal liqueur is said to have medicinal properties.
  
The recipe includes four basic preparations using 27 different plants, infused in alcohol and then distilled.
  
The result, called "spirit" is then aged in oak barrels and colored with saffron. Lemon balm, juniper and angelica are the most striking aromas."
