- "Created by Francis Miot and SG Sender (the “Monsieur Pâtissier” of Gaston Lenôtre), Les Coucougnettes are artisanal sweets made in Pau.
- They were conceived in honour of King Henry IV, historically said to have had 57 mistresses and 24 children.
- The name “coucougnette” playfully evokes life’s pleasures: to give a “coucougne” means to cuddle, pamper, or spoil someone—a “moment of love,” in two words.
- These confections are therefore a cheeky, indulgent tribute to the beloved King Henry IV, also known as the “Vert Galant.”
- Awards: Winner of Best Candy in France (2000)."
