- "Grandson of a winemaker and convinced that great wines could be produced in the Languedoc, Jean and Marie-Thérèse Orliac returned to the land, settling in the Combe de Fambétou, located between the Pic Saint-Loup and Hortus mountains, in the early 1970s.
- Today, with production across all three colours—white, red, and rosé—featuring estate wines (Domaine de l’Hortus) as well as wines sourced from carefully selected neighbouring growers (Bergerie de l’Hortus), the name Hortus has earned worldwide recognition.
- Le Loup dans la Bergerie is the creation of the Orliac children—Marie, François, and Yves—who wanted to have fun and reinvent the entry-level wine category. This wine is the result of a long series of laughter, impatience, and the pursuit of pleasure.
- Nose : a cocktail of ripe red fruits (strawberry, raspberry), with a slight menthol note and hints of gentle spice.
- Palate : well-balanced, soft and round, with low tannins and a delicious finish of red fruit flavours.”
