- "Located in Les Arcs-sur-Argens, near Draguignan, Château Sainte Roseline is a very old abbey (12th century). The estate extends over 108 hectares where 11 different grape varieties are cultivated to make rosé, red and Cru Classé whites. In 1994, Bernard Teillaud took over the operation to make it one of the flagship wine estates of Provence.
- Roseline’s story has left its mark on people around Les Arcs. In the 13th century, when famine hit the countryside hard, Roseline, daughter of the Marquis de Villeneuve, lord of Arcs, got into the habit of secretly emptying the family reserves to help starving peasants. One day, her suspicious father asks her to show what she is hiding under her apron, from which, miraculously, an armful of roses escapes. It is perhaps from this event that his religious vocation dates back. Superior prioress of the Celle-Roubaud abbey, she died in 1329. Exhumed five years after her death, her body was found intact, before finally being embalmed in 1894 and placed in a crystal shrine in the chapel, which became today a renowned place of worship.
- Coming from a strict selection of the best plots, La Chapelle de Sainte Roseline is an exceptional vintage produced in very limited quantities. Presented in an exceptional bottle called “the cuvée des sacres”, the wines obtained are of a finesse and complexity rivaling the greatest wines of France.
- Harvest conducted by a belt thus avoiding spoilage of the berries. Destemming and double sorting of the berries.
- Aging in barrels grape variety by grape variety for 12 months then harmonious blending.
- Intense nose: red fruits, liquorice and violet.
- Harmonious palate, power and finesse allow for long aging."
