- "A great name in the wine-growing region of Provence, a pioneering estate. Based in Cabasse in the Centre-Var for over two centuries, the Gavoty family has done a lot for the Provençal vineyard. They introduced the Rolle which makes the local whites so delicious and contributed to the recognition of its rosé wines.
- Philémon Gavoty acquired the property in 1806.
- 8 generations have followed one another. André Gavoty, literary journalist at the Revue Des Deux Mondes, then in charge, entrusted the management of the estate in 1960 to his nephew Pierre (1925-2006).
- Bernard Gavoty, (1906-1980) music critic at Le Figaro, heir to Petit Campdumy, wrote under the pseudonym CLARENDON and then joined forces with Pierre to organize a joint marketing of the wines from the two estates: Petit and Grand Campdumy.
- Traditional winemaking. Vatting 20 days depending on the grape variety at 28°C.
- Aged in vats for 18 months. The head of the vat is intended to round out and open up, thanks to a structure that the estate ensures without excess, but with respect for the terroir and the vintage. It should acquire roundness and complexity within 2 to 3 years.
- Complex and already open nose of red fruits (raspberry), black fruits and spices. Good tannic structure, fine and balanced tannins that will need a few years to blend.
- A mouth faithful to the nose."
