"A big name in Provence wine, a pioneering estate. Established in Cabasse in the Center-Var for more than two centuries, the Gavoty family has done a lot for the Provençal vineyard. They introduced Rolle, which is a delicacy for whites from here and contributed to the recognition of its rosé wines.
  
Philémon Gavoty acquired the property in 1806.
  
8 generations have succeeded one another. André Gavoty, a literary journalist at the Revue Des Deux Mondes, then in charge, entrusted management of the estate in 1960 to his nephew Pierre (1925-2006).
  
Bernard Gavoty, (1906-1980) music critic at Le Figaro, heir to Petit Campdumy, wrote under the pseudonym CLARENDON then joined forces with Pierre to organize joint marketing of the wines of the two farms: Petit and Grand Campdumy."
