- "A great name in Provence's winemaking, a pioneering estate. Established in Cabasse in the Centre-Var region for over two centuries, the Gavoty family has done much for the Provençal vineyards. They introduced the Rolle grape, which makes the local whites so delicious, and contributed to the recognition of its rosé wines.
- Philémon Gavoty acquired the property in 1806.
- Eight generations have followed. André Gavoty, a literary journalist at the Revue Des Deux Mondes, then in charge, entrusted the management of the estate in 1960 to his nephew Pierre (1925-2006).
- Bernard Gavoty, (1906-1980), a music critic at Le Figaro, heir to Petit Campdumy, wrote under the pseudonym CLARENDON, and then partnered with Pierre to organize a joint marketing of the wines from both estates: Petit and Grand Campdumy.
- Harvested at peak maturity (golden grapes), Destemmed and crushed, the grapes were pressed directly and gently, without maceration. This allowed for the extraction of their fruit and fleshy structure.
- The nose of fruit (pear and pineapple) is joined by notes of white flowers and a hint of honey.
- Its finish is lively and needs to round out its still-timid structure.
- It should mature over 10 years. It will need at least two years for it to develop its more mineral and complex character.
