The first traces of Château Soutard date back to 1513, when the Bourdieu de Mayne de Soutard estate was established on the site of the current château. The term "Bourdieu" refers to an estate built around a farm and a mill.
  
Château Soutard wrote a new chapter in its history in 2006 following its acquisition by La Mondiale, a company owned by AG2R La Mondiale, the leading social welfare group in France.
  
Owner of Château Larmande and Château Grand Faurie La Rose, La Mondiale undertook major renovations to the cellars and château. A significant expansion of wine tourism activities was also initiated.
  
Château Soutard manages its vineyard sustainably, paying particular attention to respecting the soil, vines, and auxiliary wildlife. Château Soutard has been certified HVE (High Environmental Value) level 3 since 2018, thus committing itself to limiting chemical inputs and preserving biodiversity.
  
The grapes are stored in a cold room before density sorting. The grapes are vinified in temperature-controlled wooden vats and truncated stainless steel vats. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels (60% of which are new).
  
From the nose, the wine is very expressive with lovely red and black fruits.
  
The palate is round and very long. Morello cherries and blackberries express themselves beautifully and age easily.
