- "Maison Louis Latour, merchant-breeder of white and red wines in Burgundy, France, was created in 1797. It makes a point of remaining independent and family-run. Each generation has worked to preserve this heritage with a visionary and ambitious spirit. Maison Louis Latour represents the largest Grands Crus property in Côte-d'Or.
- The origins of Maison Latour in Burgundy date back to 1797. The Latour family, traditionally a family of coopers, were winegrowers in Aloxe-Corton in the 17th century and subsequently established an estate of 50 hectares in total. In the village of Aloxe-Corton, the family also owns the Corton Grancey castle and winery. Dating from 1834, this vat room was at the time the only building of its type built for winemaking use.
- Chénas, Cru du Beaujolais, is made from grapes grown on hills ideally exposed to the south and whose soil is composed of pink granite and schist. This exposure allows Gamay to capture the hottest rays of the sun and reach the maximum degree of maturity. Once harvested by hand, the intact grapes are fermented in open vats, 100% malolactic.
- Manual harvest.
- Aging 10 to 12 months.
- Chénas comes from 'chênaie', a forest where oak predominates.
- Chénas presents delicious aromas of raspberries and cherries balanced by good acidity which is accompanied by a velvety finish."
