Located in Flassans-sur-Issole, between Le Luc and Brignoles in Provence, Château Peyrassol is a historic former Templar commandery founded in the 13th century.
 
 
After the fall of the Templars during the trial orchestrated by Philip IV of France, the estate was entrusted to the Hospitallers of Saint John.
 
 
Following the confiscation of church property during the French Revolution in 1789, the estate changed hands several times.
 
 
The Ricard family acquired it in 1790 and later sold it to the Rigord family in 1830, who maintained the vineyard through generations until 1967. Françoise Rigord, “the Lady of Peyrassol,” played a key role in establishing the early reputation of the young Côtes-de-Provence appellation.
 
 
In 2001, the estate was purchased by Philippe Austruy, a passionate wine lover committed to perfection and the preservation of the estate’s historic legacy.
 
 
Today, Château Peyrassol covers nearly 950 hectares, including 100 hectares of vineyards and 350 hectares of parkland reserved for hunting, making it one of the largest estates in the region.
 
 
Hand-harvested grapes, picked by variety in 25 kg crates.Parcel selection from vines averaging 45 years old. Double sorting: once in the vineyard and again on a sorting table. Destemmed but not crushed; grapes are loaded by gravity into concrete vats.
 
 
Carefully vinified to respect the expression of the terroir and the character of each parcel, resulting in a wine that is both elegant and expressive.
 
 
Nose : Spicy notes giving way to a rich array of red and black fruits.
 
 
Palate : Well-structured and mature, supported by fine tannins and integrated acidity. Intense flavors of red fruits, blackberries, and spices develop across the palate.
 
 
Finish : Round, supple, and lingering, leaving a memorable impression of ripe fruit and subtle spice."
