  • "Founded in 1720, Château Chasse-Spleen is an essential reference among the great wines of Moulis, an appellation located in the heart of the Médoc.
  • The name Chasse-Spleen, acquired in 1863, comes from the Anglo-Saxon trend and is inspired by Baudelaire.
  • The estate has been managed since 2000 by Céline Villars.
  • A cool and dry winter precedes a spring marked by significant rainfall in April as well as episodes of frost in May which slightly impact the vineyard. If the month of June is rainy, July is distinguished by its high temperatures. This hot and dry summer announces a homogeneous and rapid veraison. As the harvest approaches, the temperature differences between day and night favor the aromatic quality of the berries harvested at perfect maturity.
  • The nose combines subtle vanilla fragrances with intense fruity (cherries, blackberries, blackcurrants) and floral (old rose) notes.
  • On the palate, an attack refreshing and generous gives way to a mouth whose velvety tannins combine harmoniously with woody notes conferred by the breeding.
  • Throughout the tasting the palate seduces by its length and its aromatic expression."
