- "Created in 1859, by Mr. Louis Jadot, Maison Louis Jadot has always been located in the center of Beaune, in the heart of the vineyard. Installed in a 19th century mansion, it has superb cellars connected to the Couvent des Jacobins located in two steps.
- Led by three generations of Jadot, then for 30 years by Mr. André Gagey, the House is now in the hands of his son Pierre-Henry helped by Mr. Jacques Lardière, oenologist of the House for more than 40 years, before passing the torch to Mr Frédéric Barnier.
- Volnay lies roughly in the center of the Côte de Beaune, bordered by Pommard to the northeast, Monthélie to the west and Meursault to the south. The southeast-facing vineyards produce only red wines and 26 Premiers Crus.
- The harvest is manual in small boxes in order to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The grapes are then carefully sorted by hand and then destemmed. The maceration of the grapes takes place in open wooden or stainless steel vats for 3 weeks to 4 weeks. The vats are punched twice a day during fermentation.
- Aging lasts around 18 months in barrels from our cooperage, around a third of which are new.
- On the nose : aromas of cherries, plums and ripe blackcurrants.
- Complex palate with power and length on the palate."
