  • "Absinthe, nicknamed the "green fairy" and banned in 1915, was reauthorized in 1988. It wasn't until 2011 that its thuone content (a molecule present in the plant that, in high doses, was supposed to drive people mad) was set at a maximum of 35 mg/kg. Highly prized for its absinthe-like taste and green hues, this spirit has captivated many artists, including Van Gogh, Baudelaire, Toulouse-Lautrec, Picasso, and Oscar Wilde.
  • This absinthe is an exact reproduction of one of the absinthe recipes that the Lemercier Distillery, established in Fougerolles in 1811, produced in 1900.
  • Today, the same family still runs the distillery.
